The annual charge is the rate times the unit size. It is divided across 365 days and multiplied by the days billed.

Common questions
How is a pro-rata service charge worked out?
The annual charge is the rate per square foot multiplied by the unit size. Divide that by 365 for a daily rate, then multiply by the days being billed. A full 365 days therefore comes back to exactly the annual charge, which is the arithmetic check worth doing on any figure you are sent.
Who sets the rate per square foot?
The community’s owners association sets it and the land department reviews it, so it varies by building rather than by emirate. Ask the developer or the management company for your building’s current figure — the rate used here is whatever you type in.
